Note:
Nearly
all HTC manufactured PDA-Phones are known by several names depending on the
telecoms carrier and distributor of the device. For this reason the name on
the manual or dismantling guide may not match the name of your phone. (for
example if you have a Tilt you will find the Manual and guides refer to the
HTC Kaiser – these are alternative names for the same device.)
You may also find that the Manuals and Guides
appear to show a device that does not look identical to yours. This is
because the “carrier” (AT&T or T-Mobile for example) agrees with HTC to
have a unique design for their particular brand of the same HTC phone.
Internally however there is little if any difference. With a few models, the HTC Athena for
example, there are several variants. In such cases there may be only one
Service Manual listed. For many purposes (general dismantling for example)
these manuals are perfectly useful. You should be cautious however, if you
are dismantling with a specialised technical purpose in mind because of
potential component variations internally. Sourcing these guides and Manuals is
time-consuming and priority is given to this task. Lower priority is given to
ensuring that all “Carrier” brand names for the HTC phone are listed
below. If we have the Manual or
Guides then it will certainly be listed under the HTC name but not
necessarily under the “Carrier” alias.
